Boniface Supplies The 1st New Heavy to Burke Bros

2024-06-25

It was February 2013 that 19-year-old Sam Burke of Burke Bros Recovery, took delivery of his first ever new recovery vehicle - a Boniface T35 transporter fitted onto a new Citroen Relay chassis. At just 3.5t GVW, Sam was able to drive the vehicle on his car licence, carrying out vehicle movements and recovery work when required.  The T35 worked extremely well - proving itself repeatedly whilst providing versatility, reliability, and a professional image for the business. As the business continued to grow, Burke Bros bought several new vehicles from Boniface enabling them to take on new work and expand their customer base. They currently have several other vehicles on order which are due to arrive later this year however this latest vehicle is another incredibly special addition to their fleet – their first heavy recovery truck - a Boniface Recoverer Trident with Maxireach Lowline K underlift boom fitted to a new 8x4 Volvo FMX. Sam commented, “Boniface have been around for a long time and are well known within the industry for producing exceptional recovery vehicles. The backup we have experienced over the years has been second to none, with any issues we have encountered resolved very quickly by either a phone call telling us what to do, or a visit from one of their very experienced and knowledgeable service engineers.  This level of aftersales service was just one of many contributing factors taken into account when purchasing our 1st new heavy.”

The Recoverer Trident has been carefully engineered to provide exceptional recovery capability using its heavy-duty top boom, whilst being light enough to be used for everyday lift and tow work. It features dual 50,000lb capacity twin speed winches, power tilt and is available with a range of underlift booms to suit different applications. As mentioned above, Sam opted for the longest - lowest most powerful version manufactured by Boniface – the Maxireach Lowline K boom.

As with all Boniface heavy duty products, the Recoverer Trident is available with many options and an array of available ancillary items, all of which can be selected to fully customise your build. Sam and the Burke Bros team were very thorough when considering their requirements, putting together an extensive list of optional extras and ancillary equipment to ensure the vehicle could be put straight to work when it left the Boniface factory. Items selected include radio remote control, dual rear view cameras, side-extending rear legs with integrated feet and spades, large 6 drawer tool box, jump sockets, wheel grids, chain and shackle kit, additional forks, snatch blocks, Safetec Kit and much more…

Housing the tools, accessories and ancillary equipment whilst creating huge visual impact, is the Deluxe stainless-steel bodywork with its iconic Stealth flyer. Skilfully manufactured by Boniface, the bodywork has been designed not only to compliment the aesthetics of the Volvo chassis, but also maximise interior stowage space, ensuring that every item of equipment can be stowed ergonomically and with easy access. Sam visited the factory during the build to ensure that every piece of equipment within the bodywork was stowed just as he wanted it using Boniface’s latest clip in stowage system. The clip in system helps future proof the vehicle, enabling items to be easily added at a later date and simply clipped into place within the lockers. It also allows new operators of the vehicle to easily re-configure the stowage to their own personal preferences.
