2021-02-22

Providing 24/7 breakdown services backed up with a new purpose-built workshop on site Bill Stephen Motors are a family run business based in Brechin, Angus.  Established in 1992 and with nearly 30 years of trading behind them Bill Stephen Motors continues to enhance and update their large fleet of vehicles. The first of 2 recent orders placed with Boniface Engineering was for a 3.5T Champion slide bed installed onto an Iveco Daily 70c Crew Cab.

The Champion Slidebed is a well-established product recognised for being strong, reliable and extremely dependable. It has been tried and tested over the years by operators throughout the UK and Europe and continues to remain a popular choice.  The shovel tail design incorporated into the side raves allows the Champion bed to provide a good loading angle and makes loading cars easier. The galvanised sub frame and tilt frame provide prolonged life expectancy of the equipment and the knife edge bed rollers help to protect the bed and the road surface when loading and unloading vehicles.

As with all Boniface slide bed products, there are numerous options available to customise the equipment to your exact requirements.  Bill and Gareth Stephen were both heavily involved with this build ensuring that every situation would be covered when sending this vehicle out on task and as result this build has the follow options included.  A hooped flyer with 6 LED marker lights, a 1.6m LED Beacon with integrated stop, tail and turn repeaters, 2 pairs of LED work lights, 2 x illuminated plastic stowage lockers combined with aluminium side under run, Boniface wrecker kit, 3.6T hydraulic winch with sliding adjustment, 4 side winching posts with capstan, 1.2T second car lift and strobes mounted in the front and rear.  In addition, the rearward facing Hula Blitz lights mounted on the outer edges of the side raves ensures there is a continuous flashing amber light rearwards when loading and unloading vehicles providing that extra level of visual awareness to other road users. To increase visibility for the driver and passengers this build also has LED pathway lights fitted which illuminate the ground either side of the vehicle for safe transit to the cab. All bed and winch functions are operated either by a 6 function radio remote control or illuminated manual control levers mounted on the nearside rear of the vehicle.  All finished off with the new company logo designs in 3M reflective material this vehicle will definitely be seen on those dark Scottish nights.

Boniface would like to thank Bill and Gareth for their business and look forward to delivering their second vehicle soon.
