Another Boniface VLA for Burke Bros
2018-01-30
Just over a year ago Burke Bros Recovery took delivery of their first ever VLA from Boniface Engineering. Since being put into service, the VLA proved itself to be a very reliable and capable piece of equipment that has been used on a variety of jobs including the movement of prestige & sports cars as well as accident damaged and broken down vehicles. Having been impressed with the extremely low loading angle, excellent payload, quiet operation and ultra smooth deployment of their first Boniface VLA slidebed, Sam Burke of Burke Bros Recovery had no hesitation in purchasing a 2nd vehicle to further enhance his fleet. Boniface frequently have pre-built vehicles in stock allowing them to achieve fast turnaround times for their customers. This latest edition to the Burke Bros fleet was in fact one of Boniface’s stock MAN 12.250 crew cabs fitted with a new 5t capacity VLA slide bed and was customized to meet Burke Bros requirements. The rugged aluminum deck of the Boniface VLA provides resistance from rust and corrosion along with both increased payload and fuel economy. The equipment features a manually adjustable 8,000lb hydraulic winch allowing the operator to easily maintain a straight pull on the casualties towing eye and this particular vehicle also features a 2t capacity 2nd car lift with Jige wheel grids that are adjustable for both width and tyre size, enabling the operator to move anything from the smallest car to the largest van. Like most Boniface slide beds, the VLA’s subframe and tipping frames are galvanized to help prolong equipment life and the body is fitted with LED beacon, LED work lights and marker lights - all of which will provide years of reliable service with less amperage drop. The VLA comes as standard with full radio remote control but also has lever controls which are housed in a control locker at the rear. Operation of the bed is via a single push button control making the product very user friendly.
