FLORIDA TOW SHOW

'A look around'

Another sale at the Florida Tow Show was made to Junior of M8 Recovery.

An International fitted with a Century 3212.  Both products provide good mid size lift at an economical price both to purchase and operate.

Chevron, one of the Miller Industries group of companies, displayed its poly body with higher front locker.

This body, soon to be available with front tunnel box making it suitable for use with cab over trucks.

Miller Industries has acquired the exclusive worldwide rights to manufacture  and market the SP8000™ & SP20,000™ from Rimco Inc. of Mountain Home, Idaho.  The unit is available in several different models with an 8,000 and 20,000 lb winch that can be mounted on a carrier or tow truck and incorporates manual or hydraulic stiff legs.  The SP8000™ allows the carrier to do recovery operations and increases side pulling capabilities when installed on a tow truck.

Chuck Ceccorelli, President of  Rimco Inc., said we have had great success over the past several years, but the demand was growing faster then  our manufacturing capabilities.  As a distributor for Miller Industries and being familiar with the quality of their manufacturing along with their world leadership position in the towing and recovery industry it seemed to be a perfect match.

Jeff Badgley, President and CO-CEO of Miller Industries, said we have been impressed with Chuck’s ideas and designs and look forward to his continued involvement working closely with our engineers on this along with several other new exciting concepts.  We feel this product could have a significant impact on the use of carriers for both towing and recovery in years to come.  Our worldwide distributor network will better provide professional tow operators with better access to view and try this product along with offering sales and service support.

The Century 3212 capability to lift and tow was amply demonstrated as Miller used it to tow the 20t casualty they were using during their demonstrations.

Darrell Mansfield purchased a Freightliner fitted with Century 3212 equipment during the Florida Tow Show Exhibition.

The Freightliner powered by Mercedes is a medium duty truck which when combined with the Century 3212 provides good mid range towing capability.

Darrell got his first job at the exhibition when an owner of one of the Century 9055 which were exhibited, needed his wheelchair lifted and positioned in front of the winches in preparation for his return journey to Touson, Arizona.

A good example  of the versatility of the Century 3212.

In the early 60's Holmes introduced the 600, a 16 ton wrecker that would prove to be the most popular medium duty unit for decades.  As we enter Holmes 90th anniversary, we are proud to introduce the new Holmes 600R,  built in the same tradition as the Holmes 600 of the past.  The 600R features dual 15,000 lb planetary winches, a boom rating of 16 tons retracted and 6 tons extended at 30 degrees, along with 220 degrees of boom rotation.  The underlift provides 89” of reach with an extended lift capacity of 8,500 lb on the lift forks.

The new Century 1075S and the Challenger 9975 75 Ton Rotator will feature side-by-side 60,000 lb. 2-speed Planetary Winches and a 3-Stage Recovery boom with an extended capacity of 18 tons and a retracted capacity of 75 tons at a 30 degree boom angle.

***Whilst every care is taken to bring you a true and unbiased view of vehicles in action, Boniface do not have any comment on working practices of operators and their recovery techniques.***
