| Another covered transporter from Boniface. | ||
|
Based
on the V Tech RT 60 body this transporter was built
specifically to transport Leeds based Optare's new Alero bus. The
body is 8.3m long and can carry the current 7.2m Alero and the
forthcoming 8.0m version too. With a 5.4 tonne payload on the
Mercedes 1323 chassis the vehicle has payload to spare.
The 5 degree approach angle ensures that even with the
air suspension down the bus can still be loaded. Also
supplied by Boniface was a 7.0m long 3.5 tonne matching
covered trailer.
When not delivering new Alero buses the Mercedes is
used with the trailer to transport bus shells and components
from Optare's Leeds factory to their Rotherham plant. |
